In 1985, La Spinetta made its first red wine, Barbera Cà di Pian. After years of producing red wines, the winemaker Rivettis family dedicated their red blend Pin to their father in 1989. LA SPINETTA later expanded over the borders of Piedmont and acquired 65 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, between Pisa and Volterra to make three different 100% Sangiovese wines which become the true ambassador of the Tuscan terrain.

Giorgio Rivetti, owner and winemaker of La Spinetta in Barbaresco, has become one of the leading forces in Piedmont. The family is making exciting ripe, fruit-forward Nebbiolos that would give many highly rated New World wines a run for their money. Giorgio Rivetti’s magic touch with Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo and, more recently, Sangiovese, Colorino, Vermentino and Sangiovese Rosé has taken the wine world by storm.

The winemaker produces approachable yet age-worthy wines that command the attention of wine critics and consumers alike, year-in and year-out; their lushness, concentration, aromatics and length are unrivaled. The genius of La Spinetta encompasses a vast array of great wines, all boasting an inimitably approachable and voluptuous style.
