Arietta Wines is a super-premium Napa Valley wine producer specializing in site-specific Bordeaux-style blends. The wines are produced with fruit from carefully selected blocks within some of Napa Valley’s best cool-climate vineyards, and are given names that relate to music, like On The White Keys, Quartet and Variation One. Since 2005, the wines have been made by consulting winemaker Andy Erickson, who is linked to notable Napa Valley wineries including Screaming Eagle, Staglin and Dalla Valle.
ARIETTA H Block Hudson Vineyards Napa Valley 2008 is a perfect blend of 60 percent Cabernet Franc and 40 percent Merlot. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color with 14.5 percent alcohol percentage.
Gorgeous notes of blueberry, violets, lead pencil shavings, and pen ink soar from the glass of this full-bodied yet strikingly elegant, floral wine as well as as well as aromas of sassafras, underbrush, menthol, cassis, crushed rocks, and graphite. it reveals a beautiful texture, an explosively rich style, and a long, pure finish.
This is further evidence of the brilliance of Cabernet Franc in Napa and of Cabernet Franc paired with the rare talents of Andy Erickson. It should drink well for 10-15 years, possibly two decades.
The wine perfectly pair with beef and venison.
