Kreuth is pale straw-colored with brilliant highlights, which is a very tangy and vivid white bouquet with sliced papaya and lime character. This is a wine that plays its best cards with incredible smoothness and sikiness. It is a full-bodied rendition that has aromas of tropical fruits and minerals. The wine imparts lasting flavors of apricot, peach, pine nut, sweet almond, pear and honey. The integration is seamless and impeccable. For food pairing, it goes perfectly with vitello tonnato and marinated octopus as well as grilled vegetables, cheese dumplings and pasta aglio olio peperoncino.
2016 is a challenging wine-growing year as the vegetation period commenced very early. But a change in weather in the middle of August was a great relief to the vintners. Still, the high peaks of the main Alpine chain prevents South Tyrol from the Atlantic winds and cold northerlies, while the region also benefits from the Mediterranean climate from the south. That unveils the reason behind the significant differences between day- and night-time temperatures, and makes this bouquet an unforgettable glass to drink on.
