This bouquet is ruby red with rich and intense tones. Starting with the aromas of grilled herbs and notes of tobacco, wet earth, black currant and licorice, this palate shows a pleasant consistency of medium-smooth tannins to ensure the lengthy ageing. As a young wine, the wine has an impressive acidic spine, and taste of dried cherry and saddle leather.
Made with Sangiovese, this wine is produced in historical vineyards that are over 50 years old. Critics suggest that this is a more immediate and rond style than Rancia. On the palate, the wine has a ripe and silk tannins which finally makes a long and polished finish. The harsh finish though, seems to suggest that more time will be needed in the bottle.
FATTORIA DI FELSINA as one of the best known winemakers in the area, ensures the consistency of the winery. In Italy’s acclaimed wine rating guide, this Tuscan estate has won the coveted Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) award for 17 times. As a spoiled kid of wine enthusiasts like IWM and Robert Parker, it has never disappointed its supporters, making it accessible to all wine enthusiasts and one of Italy’s greatest values.
