The 2004 Brut Club Cuvee Gabtiel has taken the finest Champagnes from this high acid vintage some time to blossom, but as they do they are revealing themselves to be fabulous, particularly those based on Pinot Noir. This wine reveals delicate yeasty aromas and a light to medium-bodied core filled with liquid minerals, apples, and citrus fruits. It is admirably long, and has a wonderful nugget of concentration that augurs a bright future for those readers who enjoy aging Champagnes.
The winemaker, Gosset family has grown on such land of noble birth for over four centuries. Pierre Gosset, winemaker in 1584 is probably one of the most famous ancestors. Its progeny include Gosset Auguste and his three son. Among these, Gabriel Gosset, winemaker and breeder, launches the task manipulation in 1930 with the help of his wife, Andrée Brabant, who developed his first bottle: it is the birth of the brand Gosset-Brabant. Jean Gosset, their son, a lover of the earth, assisted by his wife, develops the vineyard and in turn transmits the passion to his sons, Michael and Christian. It is a place where you will find just across Bollinger, showing an intense expression of the terroir of Aÿ.
